Serving the Dallas-Fort Worth area
The technology big companies get.Built for the business you run.
Business automation, custom software, networks, cameras, and cybersecurity for local businesses, built by engineers with backgrounds in medical device architecture and security testing.
The first call is free. We’ll tell you what we’d change whether or not you hire us.
We come on site anywhere in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including the smaller towns in between.
Why we do this
Big-box retailers have an engineering team behind every store. We think local businesses should too.
A national chain has its own architecture team, plus vendors competing for the account. The shop down the street usually ends up with a system that grew one fix at a time. That often means a flat network, a shared password, and a camera system nobody knows how to pull footage from.
Most of that gap has very little to do with budget. It’s about having someone who looks at the whole setup instead of only the piece they were called in to fix. Supporting local business has been a priority in the family for a long time, and Nebularum is what that looks like when the people doing it are engineers.
What we do
There’s no standard package. Most jobs are a mix of these.
On a real job these overlap. A camera system needs a network, and that network needs to be secure. Here’s the range.
Business automation
The busywork handles itself.
Sensor trips to text messages, forms to invoices, and the other handoffs nobody should be doing manually.
Custom software
Built around the way you already work.
A CRM, a job tracker, a scheduling tool. Small, owned outright, and integrated with what you already run.
Cameras & sensors
Know what happened.
Coverage planned around what you need to prove, then installed, tuned, and monitored.
Commercial networks
A network that stays out of your way.
Configuration, setup, and installation that holds up when the building is full.
Construction cabling
Every drop certified, test results included.
Low-voltage runs for new builds and renovations, pulled and terminated correctly.
Hosting & domains
Local hosting without the cloud bill.
We manage your domain, DNS, and email, and we can host your website, apps, and business data on our own servers here in North Texas for well under typical cloud pricing.
Servers & patching
Patched machines and backups that restore.
On-premise server administration, update management, and backups we've tested by restoring them.

Something else
Not on this list?
Most of our work starts as something nobody sells off the shelf. If it’s technical and it’s in your way, ask us.
Software & automation
Stop doing by hand what your systems could do for you.
- A new website lead lands in your CRM and texts the right person
- A finished job drafts its own invoice in your accounting software
- A door sensor sends you a text instead of writing to a log
- The weekly numbers report shows up on its own every Monday
- Customer tracking, scheduling, and dispatch built around how you work
- Inventory counts and stock alerts
Most of our work these days connects the tools a business already uses. If someone spends part of every afternoon copying information from one system into another, that’s usually the cheapest thing to fix and the quickest to pay for itself.
You don’t need a four-hundred-dollar-a-month platform with two hundred features to track forty customers and a service schedule. We build the small thing that fits, then wire it into the systems you already pay for.
We work from lightweight frameworks and solution toolkits we’ve already built, which is why something custom costs less here than a year of software you’ll never fully use.
When what we build needs a place to run, we can host it on our own servers. The same people who built it keep it patched, monitored, and backed up. If one of the big cloud providers is a better fit for you, we’ll say so.
You own what we build. There are no seat counts or yearly price increases, and you won’t be stuck with a migration project the day the vendor gets acquired.
Cameras & sensors
A camera system is only worth what you can retrieve from it.
Most small-business camera systems get sold as a box of hardware and installed wherever the mounting was easy. Then something happens, and the footage is low enough resolution to be useless, or the retention rolled over last Tuesday, or nobody remembers the login.
We plan coverage around what you might need to prove: entrances, point of sale, stockroom, loading area, parking. Then we make sure you can get the footage out when it matters. Sensors tie into the same system, so a door propped open at 2 a.m. reaches your phone instead of a log file nobody reads.

Networks & cabling
Most cabling problems start at the terminations, and they’re hard to find once the walls close up.
Low-voltage cabling is usually a small part of a commercial build, and it often gets added to a larger trade’s scope along with everything else on the schedule. Terminating and certifying it to spec takes its own test equipment and practice, and that’s where most failures start. If a problem turns up after the drywall is finished, the fix usually costs more than the original run.
We work alongside electricians and general contractors as the low-voltage sub. We pull, terminate, and certify every drop, then hand over the test results and a labeled diagram of what goes where. The electrical crew can stay focused on power, and the owner has proof the network was built right.
For existing buildings, we’ll configure and segment the network so your cameras, point of sale, guest Wi-Fi, and back office aren’t all sitting on the same flat network trusting each other completely.

Security & insurance readiness
Your insurer is going to ask. “I think so” is not an answer.
Cyber liability carriers have tightened up. Controls that passed a renewal three years ago now get applications repriced or declined, and the questionnaire assumes you can show evidence rather than just remember.
We assess what you have as licensed penetration testers, looking at it the way someone trying to break in would. Then we close the gaps that matter and give you documentation you can hand your carrier with a straight face. The same work is what keeps you running on a bad day, which matters more than the premium.

Who we are
We learned this where mistakes were expensive.
- Medical device software architecture & cybersecurity
- Retail loss prevention systems
- Inventory & operations software for oil and gas
- Licensed penetration testing
- Server & database administration
- Decades of hands-on small business IT
Medical device software gets built on the assumption that a defect eventually reaches a patient. Requirements are written down before anyone writes code, design decisions get reviewed by someone whose job is to find the hole in them, and you plan the failure case before you build the working one. That’s where we spent years, and it’s the habit we brought with us.
Since then the work has included loss prevention systems for retailers, inventory and operations software for oil and gas, penetration testing against networks we were paid to break into, and the servers and databases sitting underneath all of it. The industries were different, but the question was the same every time. What happens when this goes wrong, and who finds out first?
That’s an unusual background for a company that will come automate your invoicing or mount a camera over your back door. It’s also why we ask what you might need to prove before we choose one, why it goes on its own network segment where a compromised camera can’t reach your point of sale, and why we come back and confirm the footage is still there in ninety days instead of assuming it.
We’d rather show you than tell you. Let us come look at what you have and we’ll tell you what we’d change, including the parts you don’t need us for. That costs nothing.
How we work
Nobody buys equipment until we both understand the problem.
01
Discovery call
Tell us what's breaking, what you're worried about, and what you wish the business could do. Usually thirty minutes, and it costs nothing.
02
Requirements & threat modeling
We walk the site, map what you already have, and work out where the risk and the cost sit. You get a written scope before anyone buys equipment.
03
Build & hand over
We install, configure, document, and train your people. You keep the diagrams, the credentials, and the test results. Not a black box only we can maintain.
Start here
Let’s work out what an outage would cost you.
Most owners can’t say what an hour offline, a lost day of point-of-sale, or a missing week of footage really costs them. Working that out is the first thing we do together, and it doesn’t cost anything.
Tell us what’s going on and we’ll reach out personally, usually within one business day.
